April Lockhart
April Lockhart born 4 July 1995. She started piano and guitar lessons in 7th grade which sparked curiosity. April's first song was Different. She wrote it when she was 12 years old. She spent lots of time at 14 composing songs and experimenting with the piano. Then she began to take excursions to write with her father, who lived in NY in New York and LA. April featured other topics in her song, Take my Hand. These topics included topics for her friends who dealt issues like peer pressure, and disabilities, or even teenage suicidal thoughts. Lockhart is a popular figure and is an online lifestyle blogger for the well-known Ilia Clean Beauty brand. Her birth was without a left hand, and it's part of her story, but that's not the entire story. Lockhart acknowledges her handicap in her posts on Instagram, however she does not make it the main focus of the post. What message does it convey? It is important to remember that everyone has many faces, our identities vary and we're much beyond our body. Lockhart through a video message sent from her Nashville home, says that I do not want this to define myself. I'm much far more than just my physical self. It doesn't impact my day-to-day life I do everything normally and I've found my own method of adjusting the things. However, I also consider it a very important aspect of me. Lockhart is a great example of how to stay moving forward with self-acceptance. Still she admits she's gone through phases of her body and sometimes feeling insecure to wear particular types of clothes showing how much of her body. She now wears whatever she likes. And she posts her pictures to social media. For her, self-love is an extended journey. However, that is the case with anyone with doubts. It's my opinion that having those with you who are aware of you and know the depths of your soul is vital since they'll be those who remind you What are you worried about?
