Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American actress and singer. In her early Broadway role, she was her role in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. She received her Tony Award for Best Featured actor in the Play for playing Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh has been collaborating on projects with award-winning director as well as actors and producers throughout her professional career. Ashford is scheduled to be as a co-star with Kumail Nanjiani on the Hulu limited series Welcome to Chippendales from creator Robert Siegel premiering on November 22. Ashford is currently working on Searchlight Pictures' horror film Dust which stars Sarah Paulson alongside Ebon and Moss Bachrach. In the form of an Hulu Original, the film is available on Disney Digital Television's channels. In March of 2023 Ashford will return to Broadway and will be starring alongside Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. The group behind Hamilton producer Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail will be at the leading the production. Ashford was Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy's American Crime Story Impeachment, inspired by the scandal which was involving Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp during the national crisis. In two seasons, Ashford was a star of the hit show on CBS called B Positive. It was created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre with the famous Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Ashford, who is not unfamiliar with Broadway has won two Tony Drama Desk Awards as in addition to Outer Critics Circle Awards in her role of Essie. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde are amongst her additional Broadway credits. Ashford was born and raised in Denver and now divides her life between Los Angeles, and New York.
